Today we will accompany Bunny Rabbit as he and Santa Claus’ head elf kiss and make up.

Many Augusts ago, production in Santa’s workshop came to a halt. An inventory error led the elves to make too many stuffed animals. There were boxes and boxes of stuffed animals piled high to the rafters. To make things worse, Santa was out of town.

Santa’s head elf, Alabaster Snowball, was in charge. To resume production, the elves would need the help of the strongest and bravest individual in the whole of the North Pole. They would need Bunny Rabbit.

At Alabaster’s behest, Mrs. Claus called her very best friend. “Do you think Bunny might help move the boxes?” she implored, having explained their predicament.

“Of course,” reassured Bunny’s mommy. “I’ll send him straight over.” After hanging up the phone, she called to her little boy and instructed him to find Mr. Snowball.

When Bunny arrived at Santa’s workshop, he could see that his mommy had not exaggerated. An entire room was filled with boxes and elves were still packaging up more stuffed animals! “Oh boy,” thought Bunny as he entered the workshop.

“Bunny Rabbit! I am so glad you’re here,” welcomed Mr. Snowball. “I do have to finish inventory and then we’ll be ready to move the boxes to the sleigh. While you wait, please help yourself to a cookie or a drink in the break room.”

Not waiting to be told twice, Bunny found the break room and its refreshments.

While Bunny waited, he watched The Amazing Adventures of Tom Duncan and ate a cookie. After the show ended, he waited a little bit longer. Eventually, his stomach growled, and he decided to track down Mr. Snowball.

When Bunny left the break room, he could not see a single elf anywhere. He walked into the room that had been filled with boxes and found that it was empty. All the stuffed animals and boxes were gone.

Bunny was a little bit bothered and decided to check with Mrs. Claus.

“My sincerest apologies Mr. Rabbit,” said Mr. Snowball as he rushed into Mrs. Claus’s kitchen. “Santa returned just as I finished the inventory. Before I could find you, he snapped his fingers, and all the boxes were loaded onto sleigh. He’s now delivering them to the children’s hospitals, and the elves have resumed toy production. Please forgive me.”

Bunny, having eaten some of Mrs. Claus’s chili, appreciated Mr. Snowball’s apology. With his hunger satiated, he understood that holding a grudge over something so unintentional was silly. “Mr. Snowball, I definitely forgive you. I am very glad that the boxes have been cleared, and Santa’s workshop is finally back to normal.”

“Kissing and making up… fantastic,” beamed Mrs. Claus. “Mr. Snowball, now that you are less taxed, would you care to join us for dessert?”

“It would be my pleasure,” said the elf.

So, with a fire warming the room, the three comrades sat and happily ate.
