Today’s story, my dear readers, is about the day rain made Purple Bunny very happy.

It was a warm sunny Friday and Purple Bunny was going to the mall with her parents. She loved going places with her parents. She especially loved when they went shopping. They were going because a little bunny, who won’t be named, was growing and needed a new pair of rain boots.
“Pink boots,” Purple said, thinking loudly. “With stars or dinosaurs. Definitely dinosaurs.”
“Dinosaurs? Okay. Well, let’s see what they have,” said Purple’s mommy as she daeftely pointed out an open manhole to her little bunny. Instead of being careful, Purple gave the manhole her undivided attention.
“Leave it,” said Purple’s mommy firmly.
“Look, we’re here,” said daddy bunny as he looked up at the building. Above he could see a single grey cloud. He opened the door for his family and forgot all about the ominous grey cloud.

When Purple Bunny entered the mall, she glanced at the display windows. Then, as the couple in front of them moved, angelic music began to play. As if being guided, a ray of sunlight shone through a skylight and fixed upon a display window. And there, to her delight, was a pair of purple and pink dinosaur rain boots.
Not waiting for her parents, Purple hopped straight towards the boots.
“They are perfect,” she said once her parents joined her at the display.
After giving her daughter a lecture about hopping off, her mommy asked if she wanted to get the boots.
“Yes, please,” Purple said excitedly, holding the display boot tightly.
Daddy bunny kissed her head and motioned for the salesclerk.

Purple Bunny insisted on wearing the rain boots out of the store. As they walked to the food court, there was a little kick in her step. When they sat and ate, Purple wondered if it would rain today.
“I’m not sure,” said her daddy. “I did see a rain cloud earlier. Do you want to go see?”
Purple’s little black eyes widened, and she nodded her head.
“Okay, let’s clear the table and go,” said her father.
As the family left the mall holding hands, Purple Bunny discovered that that day rain had fallen. The single grey cloud had left a single puddle on a grassy knoll. Purple began to skip towards the puddle, smiling at the people she passed.
When at last Purple came to the puddle, she jumped right in and began kicking the water. She looked so happy. Her mommy had to take a picture.
“Smile,” said Purple’s mommy as she snapped a picture.
Decidedly, it had been the perfect day, rain and all.
