The Mighty Carnospinosaurus was relieved when he had finished settling his parent’s affairs. Being responsible for sorting through his parent’s things had caused a lot of stress and sadness. He also missed his wife, Carissa, and their children. But everything was taken care of, and he could feel the stress begin to lift. It was time now to return to his wife and children. David grabbed his bag, that was packed with what he could carry, and smiled as he set off home.
At the bottom of Mount Snaggle, David saw the lake where he used to hunt and decided to stop for a meal. The area looked different than he remembered. The Snaggle had less snow and there was something weird on the hill. Uncertain what it was, he let out a loud roar and made his way to the shore.
Along the way, he saw his cousin, Kamilah. She had been fishing at the lake when she heard his roar. There was only one dinosaur with a roar quite as terrifying and she wanted to pay her respects.
“Did you see something on the hill?” David asked after greeting his cousin. Kamilah hadn’t seen anything odd. “Perhaps we can hunt together after I find out what it is?” he added before heading to the shore.
When he got to the shore, he heard a zippity zap and felt himself being sucked into a black and powerful river. The mighty Carnospinosaurus had lived in the most dangerous area in all of history, but he had never felt fear, until that moment. Finally, there was an oomph, and David landed on the ground.

When David stood, he looked around and saw that he was in a clearing. It was bordered with trees on one side and a river on the other. The river ran along the base of a steep mountain. Unlike The Snaggle, this mountain was covered in lush, green trees. None of this terrain looked familiar. Even the sun looked different. If the sun looked different, would the stars? How was he going to navigate if they were different? If he couldn’t navigate, how would he get back to his wife and children?
“You are the mighty Carnospinosaurus,” he chanted, “and you will return home.”
With his confidence renewed, David scanned the landscape again. As he looked near the edge of the woods, a light reflected in his eyes. The light was reflecting off of something shiny. He could also see a few houses near the object. Stepping out of the light, he found that the shape looked familiar. It was the weird object from the hill. Three creatures emerged from it and walked inside one of the houses.
Those three creatures where unlike any creatures David had ever seen. He sniffed the air, but they did not smell like food. They were each small and fuzzy. One was purple and pink with long ears, another was brown and white, and the last was carrying a blanket. They were laughing and speaking a language he had never heard.
Despite the language barrier, David decided that he would speak with the three creatures and walked towards the house. The ground shook a little with each step and, when he knocked on the door, it echoed through the land.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
When the three friends returned to Purple Bunny’s parent’s home, they found her mommy, Paisley, making carrot soup. They were so excited about their trip to the time of the dinosaurs. As they were blurting out all of the details, loud stomps began to shake the home. Then there was a terrifying knock on the door.
Paisley looked at her daughter and instinctively moved to the front door. When she opened the door, she saw a humongous claw. Her eyes drifted upward and presented to her the most terrifying dinosaur she had never wanted to see. And the smelliest, too. Not wanting to upset him, she stammered out, “hello”.
The three friends moved closer to the door and heard a terrifying response. What they heard sounded very much like the roar they had heard by the lake. Squirrel grabbed his cell phone and opened the dinosaur translator app he had invented prior to their trip. Knowing that he and his time machine were somehow responsible, he bravely stepped in front of Paisley. Speaking into his phone, he introduced himself to the big and terrifying dinosaur.

When the door of the home opened, David saw another purple creature appear. It said something too softly for him to hear. There was a part of him that instinctively wanted to hug this soft little creature; however, hugs would have to wait. He was here to speak with the three creatures from the shiny object.
“Hello, my name is David,” he roared. As he was about to continue, the brown and white creature came out of the house and let out the gentlest roar. Amazingly, David understood what was said. It’s name was Squirrel, and an ‘app would translate.’
“Okay,” said a calm but very confused David. “I need to go home. Can you help me?”
“I believe that you may be here because of my time machine,” said Squirrel, as he gestured to the shiny object. “What do you remember about how you got here?”
David recalled seeing the object on the hill, letting out a warning roar, and getting to the shore only to feel himself being sucked into a dark and powerful river.
Squirrel paused and thought. The time machine harnessed the power of negative energy to open a worm hole through which he and his friends had traveled. There definitely was not a terrifying dinosaur in the machine when they returned home. To get the dinosaur home, they would need to replicate his voyage.

Squirrel reviewed the security footage from their trip and was able to configure David’s exact location when the worm hole was opened. He hurried to the time machine and took out his pocket measuring tape. After measuring, he used a rock to mark where David was to stand.
“If you could, Mr. Carnospinosaurus, please stand where this rock is and don’t move,” Squirrel said. He then instructed his friends and Paisley to wait inside the house.
Squirrel pushed all negative thoughts out of his mind and entered the time machine. He buckled himself in and entered 100 million years ago into the dashboard. With a zippity zap, the time machine disappeared.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Oomph went the time machine when it landed. Squirrel nervously unbuckled his belt and opened the hatch. He peered out, hoping to not see any dinosaurs (except for David, of course). Before he could see if his experiment worked, a loud roar echoed across the land. Terrified and alone, Squirrel popped back into the time machine and shut the door.
Squirrel was about to enter the present date into the dashboard when he heard loud stomps coming towards him. Then there was a knock on the hatch. He tiptoed to the peephole and saw what may have been an ankle. But it was a familiar ankle, so he slowly opened the hatch.
“Mr. Squirrel,” said David, “You are indeed a remarkable inventor.”
Squirrel blushed and thanked his companion for his kind words.
With a wave, the mighty Carnospinosaurus said goodbye and began his journey home.
